The Dire Crime Situation en La Isla....

This crime statistics are enough to make any one cringe and wonder at the state of things to come. How much worse can the situation get? More than 890 slain in 2009, it's third worst year on record and the slayings continue. While the drug trafficking trade is blamed for this current state, one has to wonder how much of a role the economic situation plays in all this. The latest news is that the Governor of Puerto Rico is activating roughly 1,000 National Guardsman to help combat this growing crime situation. A temporary move while more police are trained; a move which seems more like an act of desperation, rather than a strategic one, to calm a situation which seems to be spiraling out of control.
